ZANE MORRIS

I am a Master of Applied Science (MASc) student in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I belong to the Structural and Multidisciplinary Systems Design Lab (SMSD), and am working on projects focused in software tool development for mechanical design. Areas of focus include Multi-Material Topology Optimization (MMTO), Multi-Objective Analytic and Numerical Optimization, and Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM).

My excitement for all things engineering is born of a desire to understand mechanical, electromechanical, and intelligent systems from a first-principles perspective. I believe it to be an imperative quality of an engineer to have a passion for what he or she studies, and present so via a medium appropriate of the times.

Accordingly, the content you will find on this webpage, categorized by the menu options at the top of the page, contains examples of projects I have completed across a variety of environments. Of most importance is the personal projects page, where my interests outside of academia and professional work can be found.
